Émile Vautrelle grew up surrounded by that obsession. Before he could draw a proper line, he understood that a room's character isn't set by its furniture or its walls - it's set by where the light falls and how it lands. He trained formally as a lighting engineer, spending years studying the great interiors of Paris not to admire them, but to understand the decisions behind them. Every angle. Every shadow. Every choice that made a space feel warm rather than just lit.

For over a decade, he designed bespoke lighting for some of the most refined private residences and hospitality spaces in France - each project built around a single question: what does this room need to feel complete?
